Have you ever had a moment that felt so magical you wish you could freeze it? Today was one of mine. Over a year ago, my brother and sister-in-law decided to surprise me with a Cinderella Makeover. The makeover included styling my hair, makeup, a crown, and a beautiful Cinderella dress that my parents bought me.
That already felt like a great day in the making, but what really made it a dream come true was how little girls reacted when they saw me. Most times, when I’m in public all little kids see is my wheelchair or they will stop and ask me, “What’s wrong with your leg?” That day, no kids noticed my disability, all they saw was Cinderella.
So today, my Dad surprised and delighted me and my Mom when a package came in the mail. I opened it and saw this beautiful oil painting of me on that magical makeover day! My Dad says he could do without the dog, but he knew I would like it. That day and now today make me want to dress up as a princess more often!
Thank you so much for sharing, Julia. You are absolutely beautiful! I love your smile! What an incredible memory and a special gift.

Julia, you are so lovely. This portrait captures the beauty within you. I can imagine some children asked, “Are you really Cinderella?” Is the dog Pluto or Bruno?

Thank you so much, Ellen! No kids actually asked if I was Cinderella, they just immediately thought that I was! 🙂 The dog in this picture is Bruno
