Dogs really can bring people together and that’s that’s what I really loved about this episode of “Gilmore Girl,” called “Women of Questionable Morals.”
For those that don’t know, Gilmore Girls is a TV show about Lorelei and Rory – a mother and daughter and all their adventures in the small town of Stars Hollow. But this review will focus mostly on Lorelei‘s parents, Richard and Emily, and, of course, a dog!
Emily is talking on the phone, when she is startled by seeing a dog on her patio, covered in snow. Even though Emily and Richard are separated at this point and living in different areas of their mansion, her first thought is to call him.
When Richard takes the dog in the the pool house, Richard and Emily are able to find out more information. The dog has a collar, but no tag, the breed is a Jack Russell Terrier, and the dog is female.
Later in the episode, when Lorelei and Rory come over for dinner, Emily is about to excuse herself so that Richard can have dinner and catch up with Lorelei and Rory, but Richard stops her in her tracks and says she is welcome to stay because the dog enjoys her company. As they are making the dog more comfortable, they start to reconcile.
I watched this show for the first time with my Mom a couple years ago, and one thing I really noticed watching it again was that Emily really lets her guard down and isn’t afraid to be vulnerable when she is talking about or is around the dog. Don’t you just love how dogs can bring out the best in people?
Nice sto. Thanks, Julia
