I Woke Up to the Best Surprise!

This morning, I woke up to the biggest surprise! 

For anyone out there that doesn’t know, I’m a big fan of W. Bruce Cameron. He is, in my opinion, “THE dog author.” He wrote one of my all-time favorite books, “A Dog’s Purpose.” If you haven’t heard of it, where have you been? It was made into a moving hit movie in 2017.

Bruce has since authored a second book in the series, “A Dog’s Journey,” and a third, “A Dog’s Promise.” This third installment is about a dog trained to assist a boy in a wheelchair. Being physically handicapped myself, I was especially happy to get and read this book. Then I was even more thrilled to see it recently  adapted for children in a book called “Cooper’s Story” so that “kids” like me (I’m 27, but feel like a kid!) could feel seen and understood. 

Now you’re probably wondering, “So what is this big surprise you woke up to?” Well, yesterday I put my review on “Cooper’s Story” online on Goodreads and Facebook. And then this morning, I woke up to see that I had been tagged on FaceBook by Bruce’s wife, Cathryn! When I clicked on it, I was excited to see she had not only shared my review, but had given me a shoutout and called me their friend! 

Then, to top off my day, Mr. Cameron himself thanked me for my positive review! I have never seen two celebrities do so much to make their fans feel so special! I hope I get the chance to meet them in person someday to not only say how important their books and movies have been to me, but so I can also say how much their kindness means to me!

Now, I just hope I don’t wake up again and find out it was all a dream!
