It’s finally here, my second favorite day of the year after Christmas! Yes, today, April 10th, combines two of my favorite things: dogs and hugs. Have you guessed it yet? Yes, today is “National Hug Your Dog Day!” As a girl who loves dogs, hugs, and hugging her dog, what day could possibly be better than this?!?
I love Sunny’s hugs and I think she likes mine. Every time we go on vacation and are gone for more than a day or two, I look forward to getting home and giving her a warm hug. When I first see her, her tail wags, she jumps for joy, and howls. I always seem to say the same thing: “Who’s a good girl? Are you a good girl? You’re a good girl!” And then comes the best part. Sunny leans in to my hug and lets me know how much she loves me and how much she missed me.
So every day but especially today, don’t forget to shower your dog with love, treats, and of course hugs! If you’re reading this after April 10th and you missed it, do it now! Happy “National Hug Your Dog Day” from Sunny and me!
