My Cinderella Story Makeover(2019) (Revisited and Revised)

For my birthday present in 2019, my brother and sister-in-law told me I would get a Cinderella makeover at Disney World. I told my Mom this would make a great photo if I could  bring my plush dog Bruno which is Cinderella’s dog that I had just gotten for Christmas.

My makeover included highlighting and styling my hair, makeup, and a beautiful Cinderella gown my parents bought me so I looked more like Cinderella. 

When she finished, the lady doing my makeover put a crown on my head and very sweetly said, “People are going to mistake you for Cinderella.” I smiled at her, but I didn’t believe her. After all, I was in a wheelchair. 

After the makeover, I sat on a flight of elegant stairs for pictures. As I was patting Bruno on the head, I heard the photographer and other people in the background say, “Aw, she’s got Bruno.” “Look! She’s got Bruno!” 

I then went back into the Magic Kingdom dressed as a princess! It made my day when workers addressed me as “Princess” or warned me “Don’t lose your glass slipper!”

I asked my Mom if it would be okay if I kept my dress on all day, and I’m so glad she said yes. At one point as I was sitting outside, a shy little girl came up to me with her mom, talked with me, and gave me a hug! (Of course, this was before mandatory social distancing!) 

A while after that, I was in line with my family for one of the rides, and I heard a little girl say, “Hi!” I turned around, smiled, and asked her, “Who’s your favorite princess?” She pointed at me and said, “You!”

When my wonderful day was finally over, I cried happy tears because none of the kids seemed to notice my wheelchair, all they saw was Cinderella! I guess the lady who did my makeup was right!
