A wonderful friend of mine gave me an adorable plush dog for Christmas and had it inscribed saying,“I Choose Joy.” The funny thing is the dog’s expression looks grumpy, and the irony of that made my friend and me laugh. She knew how much my Dad’s message of choosing joy, even during difficult times meant to me. Every time that I see it I try to remind myself to to not dwell on the past and to live in the moment.
